.Edentulous Support Society (ESS) aims to reach at the first support group in India to support edentulous people with a vision to alleviate edentulism and enable affected with the choices of a better living. This support group will reach to more than one lakh edentulous people by 2010 by opening counseling centers, appointing dentist affiliated with ESS.

This is an initiative which is taken by Dr. Vijay Tamhane, Founder Director, to bring succor to millions of people who are suffering from edentulism. Edentulous Support Society is supported by group of eminent dentists & prominent people from the society who are dedicating their personal energy, time and money in the exercise. They are extremely committed and focused to improve the quality of life for edentulous people by reaching them through awareness & guidance programme on prevention and treatment of edentulism. Edentulous Support Society will equip affected community with enhance knowledge and hence prepare them for choosing better options for dental treatments. This support group will also arrange seminars, short term and long term courses to take care of the dental hygene and how to keep it healthy.

Millions of edentulous people who are wearing discomforted dentures will be addressed for raising the level of knowledge for alternative dental treatment. Addressing on advances in the field of dentistry and the low cost better options for dental implants will help these individuals to gain self and social confidence. A positive aspect of healthy dental care improves the adult's psychological outlook towards life.
